Atelier Architects completed a renovation of an existing office building at Ballston Metro Center in Arlington Virginia. Extent of the renovation includes a prominent masonry entry with new visible signage. It also includes a facelift of the facade, complete lobby redesign, and atrium alterations. The lobby design includes a prominent multi-color stone pattern that complements the warm wood accent walls and custom reception desk. The metal panels of the directory and reception desk visually connect the lobby to the entry of the building where metal is repeated with signage and metal accents incorporated within the masonry. The design continuity is followed through to the atrium where the flooring material and the lighting are extended. Decorative stretched fabrics are suspended in the atrium to reduce the height of the towering atrium and diffuse the sunlight entering above.

Oriental dark green marble accents and dark cherry framing contrast with anigre veneer throughout the elevator lobbies, tenant corridors and bathrooms to provide a distinctive, cohesive aesthetic environment.

The renovation of the building entrance and main entrance lobby of a 200,000 square foot office and retail building in the West End of Washington, DC. The design included a new marquee, sidewalk redevelopment to reinforce the building entrance, new building entrance storefront, the redesign of the main entrance lobby space and the selection of finishes for the main lobby and elevator cabs.

Renovation of the Main Entrance lobby to give more visibility to the retail spaces and to upgrade lighting and finishes. The design included inserting a new marble inlay pattern centered on the existing elevator cabs and the addition of wood panels and trim to soften and warm the lobby space. Furniture for a seating area was included to help organize the spatial quality of the space.

The Main Entrance Lobby is designed in a modern aesthetics with a strong marble floor pattern, wood and fabric paneled walls and distinctive lighting.
